Fans brutally troll India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal after careless shot leads to dismissal against West Indies on day four of Delhi Test

THE 2nd test in Delhi saw India assert overwhelming dominance against West Indiesputting them on the brink of a serial sweep. This match, marked by imposing batting and incisive bowling, was largely in line with the home team’s script. However, a moment of individual recklessness on the part of the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal Day 4 briefly threatened to eclipse their superiority.
Ind vs Wi: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s reckless dismissal in the second innings
Jaiswal’s time in India’s second innings was short and ended in an instance of avoidable carelessness, cutting short what should have been a simple, confident shot towards a decisive series victory. Chasing just 121 runs, the young opener was dismissed for just 8 runs, attempting a misjudged overhead shot very early in the chase. He came down the field to the left-arm spinner Jomel Warricanaiming to create a full, flatter delivery over the top.
Jaiswal completely misjudged the shot, failing to get under the ball properly, resulting in a poorly timed shot. The ball stayed a little low from the start, making it an easy chance for the deep-positioned defender. Anderson Phillipstationed at Long-On, comfortably pocketed the catch, sending the Indian opener back to the pavilion much to the dismay of the home crowd. Given the simplicity of the target and the non-threatening match situation, the aggressive choice to hit a big, unnecessary shot was universally considered a serious error in judgment. Jaiswal’s departure is an unfortunate reminder that a change in mindset is sometimes necessary, even when chasing low totals.
Here’s how fans reacted:
what a fool Jaiswal is #INDvsWI lack of respect for the opposition did it

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Bumrah of batting, just like Bumrah takes wickets from tailenders, Jaiswal scores mostly against weak teams on flat pitches. Meanwhile, Shubhman Gill is the Siraj of batting, just like Siraj takes wickets of top-order batsmen, Gill scores against strong teams.

Now, now what do we have here, Jaiswal goes down to SLA Warrican first and leaves. Added spice to the chase.

Jaiswal will do anything for an extra day off.

Why did they push Jaiswal to play aggressively and achieve that today?

Flat Track Bully Jaiswal is off for 8. Never bowls when it counts. If West Indies can take 3 or 4 more wickets before 50 runs, they have a chance, although it is unlikely to happen

Jaiswal dismissed for 8 runs.
Always fails when chasing races and being part of a team under pressure.
Can’t he play reasonable cricket and avoid false shots. Why must he always play with his ego and arrogance?–vik (@Vishavj24049960) October 13, 2025
What was this Jaiswal, the seeds that killed me?

This is what happens when you learn from Rohit, what a brain-dead shot from Jaiswal to hit for too long. This is not the jaiswal I know. Now I understand why someone said Jaiswal was a blind hitter.

Why Jaiswal, why? What’s the hurry? There is no NRR in the WTC.

India set to win series despite West Indies fightback in 2nd innings of Delhi Test
The Delhi Test was dominated by India from the start, following their decision to bat first on a good surface. The hosts took full advantage of their opportunity, declaring their massive first innings closed at 518/5, a total mainly built on two outstanding individual performances. Jaiswal scored a magnificent 175 runs, which unfortunately ended in a run-out, and his captain, Shubman Gilplayed an excellent anchor role to remain unbeaten on 129.
The Indian bowlers then took charge, imposing the follow-on after quickly dismissing the West Indies for just 248 in their first outing, a performance highlighted by Kuldeep Yadavit’s great 5/82. Despite being forced to bat again, West Indies showed great courage and determination in their second innings, led by centurions Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103), eventually bowled out for a much-improved total of 390. This strong resistance, however, still resulted in India being set a simple target of 121 runs for a comfortable victory. India have since started their chase and despite the early setback of losing Jaiswal, they are in a very strong and dominant position. They are widely expected to close out the remaining races quickly, securing a decisive 2-0 series sweep.
