Faker propels T1 into World Championship grand final

T1 recorded a 3-0 sweep against Top Esports on Sunday to advance to the grand finals of the $5 million League of Legends World Championship 2025 in Shanghai.

T1 MVP was South Korea’s Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee, who scored a 30-minute victory in blue and 27- and 29-minute victories in red to set up a meeting against KT Rolster in the November 9 grand final in Chengdu. The winning team will take home $1 million.

The 17-team tournament kicked off in Beijing with the Swiss stage on October 14. Eight teams reached the playoff stage in Shanghai, a single-elimination bracket in which all matches are played in a best-of-five format.

12-14. $125,000 – Secret Whales, Key Stars, 100 Thieves

15-16. $112,500 – Fnatic, PSG Talon

17. $75,000 – Invictus Games
