Exchange of textiles defines a five -year plan to stimulate “systemic change” by 2030

Textile Exchange said that it has adjusted your approach following an in -depth examination and prioritization undertaken in 2023, which coincided with Claire Bergkamp by assuming the CEO post.
This change will highlight the dedication of the organization to accelerate industry initiatives and generate tangible results to the point of creating the production of raw materials.
Exchange textiles collaborates with brands, manufacturers and farmers to promote sustainable and responsible practices in terms of fiber and material production.
The announcement of the plan follows the latest “ report on the Exchange textile materials ” market, which stressed that global fiber production had reached a record of 124 m of tonnes in 2023 and projected an increase to 160 million tonnes by 2030.
Despite significant growth within the organization, including more than 90,000 certified sites worldwide according to its standards, the industry is still lagging behind the necessary reduction of 45% of the greenhouse gas emissions of fiber and the production of raw materials aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement for 2030.
The new phase of the organization’s strategy is designed to optimize operations and focus on priority raw materials to improve favorite production systems. It also aims to combat the economic obstacles encountered by level 4 producers.

By improving tools, impact data, measurement, report systems, target adjustment and advice for favorite production systems, organization seeks to speed up positive climate and nature impacts.

This new system is suitable for reflecting the complexities of real world production systems by emphasizing the results of climate and nature. It aims to connect brands, retailers and producers thanks to best practices verified in terms of raw materials.
