Everton “not ready” for the new Premier League season, said Moyes

David Moyes admitted that Everton was “not ready to start the Premier League season” just over two weeks from the big kick -off.
Moyes has repeatedly highlighted the slow transfer window as a reason for concern and he again called for an emergency after the 2-1 defeat against West Ham in the summer series in Chicago during the night.
Idrissa Gana Gueye put the men of Moyes ahead, but an error of the new goalkeeper Mark Travers allowed Lucas Paqueta to equalize and replace Niclas Fullkrug marked the winner of the Hammers in the middle of the second half.
Moyes insists that he was not concerned about the result – or the defeats against Bournemouth and Blackburn and the draw with ACCRINGTON who preceded him – but he becomes more and more frustrated by a lack of progress on the recruitment of players.
Everton has signed four players so far this summer – through, midfielder Charly Alcaraz, striker Thierno Barry and the left back Adam Aznou – but Moyes wants at least five others.
He said: “We are not ready to perform well enough in this tournament. We are not ready to start the Premier League season.
“I’m not too worried [by the results] Because I don’t have the players I need and what I want.
“And obviously, we faced ourselves from the start. We knew before our arrival [to the US] We were going to be really against. So that was never going to be we come here and win [games].
“I think our attack game right now has been really poor. I think we have not created enough chance anywhere.
“I think the way we play in this field of the field at the moment has been really less than normal. But we made individual mistakes that have also shown us.
“He stood out this evening, some goalkeeper errors. On weekends, we made some mistakes against Bournemouth.”
The next step for Everton is a confrontation with the old side of Moyes, Manchester United in Atlanta on Sunday.
Until then, the Scottish hopes to have strengthened a team which, according to him, lacks figures.
He added: “There is a bigger turnover of players now in clubs. They said, “Hey, maybe sign three or perhaps four top players every season”.
“But because of the way the biggest teams and perhaps boys who do not get a game, they want to go, you find that there is a larger rotating door of players. So many clubs report fairly large figures, which they are now, more than what has been done in the past if you look at it.
“We wanted to have players much earlier, especially coming here [to the US]I knew we were going to be incredibly short. “”
Time is exhausted for Moyes and Everton, who open their Premier League campaign at Leeds newly promoted on August 18.
