Elijah Wood breaks silence on possible return in new ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie

Elijah Wood has finally broken his silence on his potential return in the next Lord of the Rings movie.
Talk to Rant screen At Fan Expo New Orleans, the 44-year-old actor neither confirmed nor denied reports that Elijah would reprise his role as Frodo Baggins in the new film, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
Playing coy about reprising his beloved role, Elijah said, “I can’t confirm or deny. Look, a wizard can be trusted.”
He added to the outlet, “I’m not really allowed to confirm. I’m really excited about the film. I think it’s really a creative move to ‘get the group back together’. A lot of creative department heads are back and in this space again.”
“Philippe [Boyens] I think it’s co-writing it and producing it. It’s really the original group coming together to tell this story that will feel like a really fun exploration of this character that we all love so much. And I’m really, really excited,” continued the Green Street star.
Elijah added: “I’m excited for Andy [Serkis] to direct it. It seems incredibly fitting that he’s making a film about his character that he really made his own.”
“I’m excited. It’s going to be great. And I can’t wait to see… I know their intention is to make more films in this universe. And it’s exciting, interesting to see where it goes, but very exciting,” he added.
For those who are not informed, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.
