Edmonton’s oilers are built to put an end to the wooden mouth of the Stanley Cup in Canada and they know it

Oil Canada.

The Edmonton Oilers of this season have proven to be the best hope of ending the drought of the Great White North Stanley Cup.

Currently, three of the six teams still remaining in the pursuit of the Holy Grail of Hockey are from the north of the border. But let’s be real – Oilers, Winnipeg jets and Toronto Maple Leafs, who has the Moxie covered with Putin to become the first Canada -based team from the 1993 Montreal Canadians to sip the cup of Lord Stanley?

The jets, who won the trophy of presidents as champions of the regular season, go to match 6 of their series of semi-final on Saturday with the stars of Dallas down 3-2 and must in a way find a way to win a match on the road to force a decisive match 7. The ratings are not in their favor (or service for their fans).

The Toronto Maple Leafs managed to send their series against the title champion of the Florida Panthers Cup to a seventh game, after recovering three consecutive competitions with a victory on the road 2-0 Friday evening.

Of course, the Maple Leafs could reach the conference final for the first time since 2002. Just when they were ready for elimination, they won a huge victory launched by the first goal of Auston Matthews in the series and sealed by Joseph Woll’s first bleaching.

But being the Maple Leafs, losing another match 7 would be about a deductible and a fans base who saw their team for the last time winning a cup in 1967.

Which brings us back to the Oilers, who did a short job on the Golden Knights of Vegas in the second round, requiring only five games to ship the champions of the Pacific division.

For those who believe that the process to win a Stanley Cup is better served by a defeat in the final, the Oilers are your team. Remember that this team fell to the Panthers in match 7 last season – an Edmonton series dragged 3-0 before making a trio of victories to force a winning force test, so as not to be short of a team of the panthers who had undergone the final of the Stanley Cup the previous year.

This experience is only part of the Oilers equation, which won a cup for the last time in 1990. Their dynamic offensive duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are great players showing their domination in the biggest situations. No surprise there.

The difference is now how Edmonton has become a more complete team, with real score depth. Of course, McDavid and Draisaitl open the path offensively, but the contributions no longer end with them and the offensive defender Evan Bouchard.

Corey Perry, who was 40 years old this week, somehow found the youth fountain. Evander Kane, after missing the whole regular season, gathered and gained momentum while the playoffs continued. Connor Brown gives the ouilers the size and the deep score punch which often makes the difference along the way.

Oh yeah – They also continue to take advantage of the Swiss army striker Ryan Nugent -Hopkins and the Kamikaze Made Zach Hyman in their upper line.

All of this depth is the reason why the oilers do not need to rely so strongly on their power game to succeed, unlike a year ago, even when they won the return victories.

Then comes another huge key that adds more pop to Edmonton’s chances: after having woven in the first games of the playoffs, the Stuart Skinner goalkeeper goes to the consecutive laundering of the conference of the West. Skinner’s confidence – and the team’s faith in him – cannot miss.

There remains a long way to go before the Stanley Cup was hoisted. But accumulate for the moment when he is lifted by the Oilers – and goes to Canada, without a price.
