Eddie Murphy embraces the full phase of his career, but even he has moments of surprise during the shooting.
At the first of his new film The collection In Los Angeles, the 64-year-old actor admitted that he had been caught when young co-stars called him the “old man” during the combat scenes.
“When I had combat scenes, during the combat scene, the actors, they improvised and they were two young guys and both said:” Come on, old man! I almost said cut.
“It’s like I was the old man in the fighting scene.” Another moment that surprised him came when an actor shouted: “You are an old crazy man!” His reaction? “I said to myself:” Hey! “”
Although he can be amused by the change in the way others perceive his age, Murphy does not necessarily feel it.
“I still feel like me-just a little more rigid,” he joked, recognizing the physical assessment of action scenes but clearly indicating that his mind has not changed.
In The collectionMurphy plays alongside Pete Davidson as an armored car goalkeeper who finds himself in the middle of a high challenge casino drawn by the character of Keke Palmer.
The film mixes the action with comedy, a space that Murphy has long dominated, and that gave it the opportunity to connect with Davidson unexpectedly.
“I like to work with Pete Davidson,” said Murphy.
“I love her energy. He is really funny and fast, intelligent, a good actor. I loved it. ” Their link went beyond the scenario. “We have a lot in common,” added Murphy. “The two lost our dads at the age of eight, both of the former students of Saturday Night Live, both of the standing comics.”
For Murphy, the whole of The collection It was more than a simple film place, it was a reminder of the distance he came and how much he still likes what he does.
