DWTS Pro Emma Slater Addresses Retirement Speculation

Dancing with the stars pro Emma Slater responds to speculation she’s hanging up her dancing shoes.

“When I posted this exact video in September, it confused a lot of people. I wrote a caption that said something like, ‘You never know when it’s going to end, thanks.’ DWTS for the trip of my life’, and people thought I was leaving! Slater, 36, wrote via TikTok on Friday, November 28.

Alongside the post, Slater shared a sentimental video of herself standing in the DWTS rehearsal room. As she pointed to the show’s panel, Slater gave the camera a sweet smile.

“I was actually just being honest (I mean, it’s the truth!) this is the journey of my life and no one knows when it will end,” she continued. “I’m really, really grateful, and one day I’ll watch videos from that time. And I’ll be proud because I recognized even in the moment how special that time period is.”

When I posted this video in September, it confused a lot of people. I wrote a caption that said something like “you never know when it’s going to end, thank you DWTS for the adventure of a lifetime” and people thought I was leaving! Actually, I was just being honest (I mean, it’s the truth!) This is the adventure of my life and no one knows when it will end. I am truly grateful and one day I will watch videos from that time. She concluded: “Thank you DWTS and thank you to everyone who benefits from it. And it’s probably you!!! So thank you.

While sharing the same video in September, Slater seemingly hinted at his future with a cryptic caption.

“Thank you #DWTS for the ride of a lifetime,” she wrote via TikTok at the time. “You never know when your time is up, so I’m going to love it every day.”

Lovers of DWTS and Slater were quick to weigh in and publicly speculate about his place on the show.

“I don’t like this riddle,” one user wrote, while another added: “Why does this look like a farewell video? Yet the season hasn’t even started yet.”

Others, however, guessed that Slater was simply writing a message of gratitude and making no allusions to his future in reality TV.

“That’s not what people mean by thinking she won’t be on the show after this season,” a third wrote. “She just says that you never know when you won’t be called back by the show and that you have nothing to do with your partner this year.”

Slater finally finished DWTS season 34 in 7th place alongside his partner, actor Andy Richter, which won the hearts of fans. (Robert Irwin and pro Witney Carson finally won the competition earlier this month.)

Following the duo’s elimination, Slater reflected on their partnership with a series of clips from their season.

“All I can really say right now is that I love you Andy and thank you for changing my life. I’m so happy now that we’re a family. 💛,” Slater wrote via Instagram earlier this month. “@richtercommaandy I cried about a million times putting this all together. Look at these memories. You are SO SPECIAL.”

Richter, for his part, said he was grateful for the experience, which included both physical and mental endurance.

“I really started to enjoy it and I started to feel transformed and I started to love exercise,” he said. People earlier this month. “There was just a lightness about me, I mean in my attitude. I was able to kind of feel like, yeah, I’m going to do this.”
