A double Canadian citizen of the United States was arrested last month for his alleged role in order to bring a family to four Romanian people in the United States, which left them dead, including two young children.
Timothy Oakes, 34, of the Indian reserve of Akwesasne Mohawk (Amir) in Canada, was arrested on June 15 while trying to enter the United States via the Massena entrance port, New York, said the Ministry of Justice.
He is accused of conspiracy with others to engage in foreign traffic, four charges of extraterrestrial for -profit and four extraterrestrial smuggling leaders leading to death. He appeared on Tuesday before a federal court and was sentenced.

His co-conspirators based in the United States-Dakota Montour, 31, and Kawisiiostha Celecia Sharrow, 43, both from Akwesasne-Mohawk, New York, and Janet Terrance, 45, Hogansburg, New York-all made guilty plea.
“Oakes and his co-conspirators took advantage of a human smuggling operation with a singular and cold-hearted objective: to earn money by bringing illegal foreigners to the United States, whatever the danger to human life,” said Matthew Galeotti, head of the criminal division of the Ministry of Justice. “Their greed led to the death of a mother, a father and two small children, as well as one of the accused’s own brothers.”
Oakes introduced the smuggling of illegal immigrants from Canada north of New York using boats to cross the St. Lawrence River, federal prosecutors said.

Oakes, his brother Casey and the Romanian family were on the ship when he capsized, killing the family, including two children under 3 and his brother.
“Two children of children’s age and their parents were the tragic victims of an extraterrestrial smuggling attempt that turned horribly,” said chief agent Robert Garcia in the Swanton sector of the American border patrol. “Their death was the direct result of insensitive smugglers who exploited the vulnerable.”

Terrance, Montour and Sharrow admitted to their advocacy agreements that they were employed to illegally transport the Romanian family – mother, father, 2 -year -old boy and 2 -year -old daughter – from Canada to New York. Montour admitted that he was aware of the dangerous weather conditions on the day of the smuggling attempt – violent winds, icy temperatures and limited visibility, said the Ministry of Justice.
