Agent Eva Imani is a tenacious investigator, but her tenacity could put her in serious danger. But her unbridled zeal is also the reason why she goes after Julie Bell at the Bell residence despite Hank Voight’s disapproval. The Intelligence Unit is at a standstill in the case of Raymond Bell in Chicago Police season 13 episode 7 because they have no concrete evidence to stop him.

Imani has every reason to believe that Julie is in danger. Earlier in the episode, she is hospitalized after allegedly falling from a tree, but Imani gives the girl her phone number in case she needs help. She later receives a mysterious text message from Julie and she thinks it’s a cry for help. However, since it’s just a bunch of emojis, it’s not enough to burst into the Bell residence to apprehend Raymond.

What forces Imani to rush to save Julie is a phone call that evening. Julie doesn’t speak and Imani only hears heavy breathing before the call is disconnected. When she calls Julie again, no one answers. Against Voight’s instructions, she heads to the Bell residence to rescue Julie, but the girl has disappeared. What she finds is Julie’s broken phone and a strange noise behind her at the end of the episode.

Although Imani thinks Julie is in trouble, the child may not be the only one facing a disastrous fate. Even though her intention comes from a good place, going rogue could ultimately put her and perhaps Julie in even more danger.
