Disney will pay $ 10 million to set the FTC complaint that he has collected data on children on YouTube

The Federal Trade Commission that Disney will pay $ 10 million to settle allegations that the entertainment giant has enabled data to collect youtube videos for children. Under the rule of protection of online confidentiality of children, also known as companies, companies must inform parents and obtain the consent of parents if they collect information from minors. According to the complaint of the FTC, Disney failed to properly label certain YouTube videos such as “made for children”, which allowed the company to collect data and deliver targeted announcements to viewers under the age of 13.
The proposed order of the FTC would also oblige Disney to create an examination process to determine when and how the videos are properly designated with YouTube Made for Kids Label. YouTube deployed Made for Kids labels following a 2019 regulation on the accusations that the video platform had raped Coppa. Google faced an additional payment from last month from a similar collective appeal.
