Disney confirms that Star Wars and Marvel are about to worsen well

By Chris Snellgrove | Updated

It would seem that Disney actively courts a key demography that they still have not reached: Gen Z men. This group varies between 13 and 28 years old and the sources say that the Maison de la Souris is now trying to develop an original IP address to reach this demography. However, I am here to make a dark prediction for lovers of films everywhere: it will not take long before Disney accepts this approach with its existing IP, which is why Star Wars and Marvel are about to obtain well, much worse.

First, a context: Gen Z represents a demography in which major studios like Disney are still trying to draw. But a large part of this generation experienced the Pandemic COVID-19 during their years of training, which delayed social skills and created a culture to watch mainly YouTube videos and to chat with friends on Discord. Disney does not know exactly how to reach this market, and the reports say that the studio is trying to develop new films and programs for this demography because their previous efforts have endeavored.

Previously, Star Wars has lost its appeal with Gen Z and other demographic data, which is why we have not had a new film in this galaxy far, far since Skywalker climb In 2019. Likewise, superhero fatigue affected young and younger generations, which is why the MCU continued bleeding fans. And Disney does not really have any other IPs that could appeal to young men in the same way as Caribbean pirates done in 2003.

Now, because Disney focuses on the creation of the original IP to please young men, you might think that my concerns about Star Wars and Marvel are exaggerated. After all, they are established franchises, and they already have their own legions of fans. However, I bet on the fact that Disney will go all on generation Z for two simple reasons: Dimwitters frames and endless greed.

What does someone will happen so Disney really creates new films that call on the Z generation? If this happens, you can bet your last Bantha that gourmet leaders will try to apply the formula of these new films to their aging franchises. Soon, we will have Star Wars films with a horrible slang of youth (which is ready to see the C-3PO translate “Skibidi Rizz”?) And Marvel films where each scene has the length of a tiktok video.

In a perfect world, Disney would take the time to personalize its creative and marketing approach for each IP and each demography. But the constant lesson in recent years is that this studio is deeply, deeply lazy. Do not forget, they bought Star Wars for $ 4 billion, then did not really succeed in plan The consequences and their only way to interest people at the next Big Marvel Sols were to bring Robert Downey Jr. as a completely different character.

Run the field for Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom The Fantastic Four: First steps.

To be short? If Disney cracks the code on how to call on generation Z, he will immediately try to call on Star Wars and Marvel for young people. This could be enough to kill the two franchises, especially when older fans see Disney doing everything possible to call on a much younger generation.

No matter how much you think Marvel and Star Wars are now, these franchises will become a lot Worse when Disney tries to look at adolescents. Imagine a Star Wars film even more stupid than Skywalker climb or an even more boring Marvel movie than The enee. While Disney is preparing to go all on another demography they do not understand, I can’t help but think that C-3PO summed up everything perfectly: “We are condemned!”
