NEW DELHI: The Premier League of Delhi (DPL) distributed fines for several players following the heated -storming confrontation between South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions on Friday at the Arun Jaitley stadium. The match, which saw the captain of West Delhi, Nitish Rana, breaking 134 undefeated bullets to obtain a victory with seven counters, had also been marked by clashes on the field and aggressive exchanges. Digvesh Rathi was sentenced to a fine of 80% of his match fees for a violation of conduct code under article 2.2 (level 2) for behavior deemed contrary to the spirit of the game. Rana was sentenced to a fine of 50% of her match fees for a violation under article 2.6 (level 1) for having used a gesture considered obscene, offensive or insulting. Aman Bharti received a fine of 30% for a violation under article 2.3 (level 1) for the use of audible obscenity during the match. Sumit Mathur was sentenced to a fine of 50% under article 2.5 (level 1) for the use of the language or gestures that could cause an aggressive reaction from another player. The DPL has reiterated that it remains determined to maintain the spirit of the game and expect all players to respect driving standards. The Western Delhi Lions will now face the East Delhi runners in Qualifier 2, the winner advancing to meet the kings of the center of Delhi in the grand finale.
