Dick Van Dyke reveals why Mary Tyler Moore got mad at him

Dick Van Dyke has finally revealed why his longtime friend Mary Tyler Moore got angry with him.
On November 30, the 99-year-old American actor and comedian hosted a Vandy High Tea at his residence in Malibu, California, to raise funds for the Van Dyke Endowment of the Arts and the developing Dick Van Dyke Museum.
At the charity event, Dyke recalled drawing a caricature of the late American actress and film producer, which she rejected at first glance.
Dyke, who turns 100 on December 13, 2025, told guests that Moore made him redraw his drawing of her because his first attempt “pissed” her off.
He recalls: “I made her mouth too big and she was so angry with me. »
THE Goodbye Birdie The star went on to share: “I had to go back and draw her again. I mean, she had a beautiful mouth, but she was generous.”
For those who don’t know, Moore died of cardiopulmonary arrest at the age of 80 on January 25, 2017.
It is pertinent to mention that the legendary Hollywood star was battling type 1 diabetes, which contributed to his death as well as major complications caused by pneumonia.
