Devon Walker closes the chapter of his time at Saturday Night LiveDescribing experience as enriching and stimulating.
In a new interview with RollerThe actor revealed why he thought that the timing was right to move away from the emblematic sketch show.
“To be frank, I suppose that the best way I put it is like me and the show was looking at itself in a way and we decided together that it was time to separate,” said Walker.
“I think I felt ready to leave the show, and I think the show was ready to leave me.”
Walker, who joined the cast in 2022, admitted that work required sacrifices that weighed heavily on him.
“Being in the series was a commitment of life,” he said, adding that there were moments “many life of life” that he had missed during the shooting.
“I was just ready to do something else. We both had the impression of being time. I think I and the show are both ready to turn the page. ”
The actor officially announced his departure last week on Instagram, displaying a written declaration alongside photos of his time in the show.
“For me, jobs in this industry look like a bunch of small weddings. Some last a long time if we are lucky, but most of them are ephemeral. Permanent until they are not,” he wrote.
Think about his three seasons with SnlWalker did not hesitate to recognize the ups and downs.
“Me and the show made three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic like hell. But we … we took advantage of what it was, even in the middle of all the dysfunction. We have made the Lil family. ”
He humorously subtitled the post: “Me and baby broke.”
Walker, 34, is one of the many members of the distribution not returning for season 51, which starts in October.
