Ariel Winter is distraught over the loss of her beloved dog, Casper, after more than a decade together.
THE Modern Family Elder27, took to Instagram on Friday, November 7, to share a touching tribute to her Samoyed, calling him her “first baby and best friend.” Sharing a carousel of photos from their years together as Bob Dylan Knocking on heaven’s door played in the background, Winter wrote that the last two weeks have been the “most heartbreaking weeks of [her] life.”
“I lost my first baby and my best friend Casper,” she began. “He was the most special good boy, funny, empathetic, loving, independent, sassy, goofy and, of course, handsome.”
Winter went on to say that she “will be forever grateful for the 11.5 years” they shared, describing Casper as a dog who “LOVED children, occasional mischief, the cold floor, walks, courting you, pictures of him in his Christmas pajamas…but most of all, he loved us more than anything.”
The actress admitted that his death “still seems so unreal”, adding: “I keep thinking that the hospital is going to call me and tell me that a miracle has happened and that I will be able to pick him up and take him home.”
The pet’s grieving parent ended his post with a tearful goodbye: “Rip Casper, the scariest boi with the most fabulous paws and the best ears and the big tits and the big tail and the big heart…we miss you and love you so much buddy.”
Winter’s boyfriend Luke Benward also shared a touching comment, calling Casper “so special” and “the only dog that would literally talk back to you.” He added: “He loved his mum more than anything. »
