De’Anthony Melton wins as Warriors beat Bucks

Stephen Curry scored a team-high 31 points, De’Anthony Melton added a season-high 22, and the Golden State Warriors opened an eight-game homestand with a 120-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night in San Francisco.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds in just 31 minutes, but it wasn’t enough for the Bucks to earn a third straight victory.
The Warriors led 53-50 late in the second half before taking advantage of Antetokounmpo’s third foul to score 11 straight points with the Milwaukee star on the bench en route to a 64-53 lead at the break.
Melton contributed a 3-pointer, his third long-range hoop in four halftime attempts. With Moses Moody also scoring three, the Warriors shot 12 of 25 from beyond the arc in the first 24 minutes, outscoring the Bucks 36-12 from deep in the process.
Shooting 49% overall and making 18 3-pointers, Golden State never trailed in the second half as it recorded its seventh victory in its last 10 games.
The 30-point game was the 12th of the season for Curry, who also found time to match seven assists and seven rebounds.
Melton, who hadn’t scored more than 16 points or made more than three 3-pointers in a game this season, bombed 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.
Al Horford came off the bench to contribute a game-high eight points with 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks for the Warriors, while Jimmy Butler III scored 21 points, Draymond Green had 14 to go with seven assists and Quinten Post 11 points.
Antetokounmpo shot 15 of 22 on a night when the Bucks lost despite making 54% of their attempts overall and 44% of their 3-pointers. Milwaukee got just 12 free throw attempts — just three more than Butler alone — and was outscored 14-7 at the line.
Kevin Porter Jr. had 15 points and nine assists for the Bucks, while Ryan Rollins added 16 points, Myles Turner and Kyle Kuzma 13 each and AJ Green 11.
