Crystal Palace criticizes UEFA’s decision after demarcation of the conference league: “almost impossible to obtain a fair audience” | Football news

Crystal Palace has strongly criticized UEFA and the Sports Arbitration Court (case) for their demotion to the conference League, saying that it was “almost impossible to obtain a fair audience”.
Palace thinks that “the sporting merit is made without meaning” following the decision and that the process was managed in a way that led to “predetermined results”.
Palace also called on UEFA to examine both its regulations and the application of these rules and criticized the “privilege and power” of “certain clubs, organizations and individuals”.
The sport arbitration court said in a press release Sky Sports News that no objection was raised by any of the parties involved in the case and that its rules “ensure equity”
A press release said: “All parties had an official opportunity to raise any concern concerning the operation of the process. No objection was raised to indicate that the right to a fair hearing was not respected.”
Sky Sports News also contacted UEFA.
Palace, who beat Liverpool to win the community shield on Sunday, qualified for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup in May.
However, they were demoted to the league of the conference by the European director of UEFA football on July 11 after having determined that on March 1, the American businessman John Textor had control or influence at the Palace and the French club Lyon.
Palace called on, on Monday, the case announced that the London Club had lost its appeal, with Nottingham Forest to take the place of the UEFA second level competition.
UEFA regulations indicate that when one or more clubs have shared the property, they cannot play in the same competition, and Lyon has retained the Europa League because of their upper league position.
Textor has since sold his actions in Palace to the owner of New York Jets, Woody Johnson, a purchase finished in late July.
Palace’s position, as indicated in a July declaration, was that “it is clear for everyone to see that we are not part of a multi-club operation and that we have never been”.
Tuesday, Palace wrote in their statement: “Multi-club structures hide behind the Charade of” blind confidence “while clubs like ours, which have no connection with another club, are prevented from playing in the same competition.
“To worsen injustice, clubs that seem to have huge informal arrangements with each other are also allowed to participate and even play against each other.”
Declaration of the entire palace – “it should be a turning point for football”
“At a time when we should celebrate our victory in the community shield at Wembley, UEFA’s decision and followed by the Arbitration Court for Sport shows that sporting merit is made without meaning.
“When we won the FA Cup against Manchester City that day in May, our manager and our players won the right to play Europa League football.
“We were refused this opportunity.
“It seems that some clubs, organizations and individuals have unique privilege and power.
“This growing and unhealthy influence has broken the hopes and dreams of Crystal Palace supporters, and does not bode well for the ambitious teams of all Europe in competition to progress when the rules and sanctions are applied unevenly in the most blatant way.
“Multi-club structures hide behind the Charade of” blind confidence “while clubs like ours, which have no connection with another club, are prevented from playing in the same competition.
“To worsen injustice, clubs that seem to have huge informal arrangements with each other are also allowed to participate and even play against each other.
“Although we respect the members of the Tribunal case, the process is designed to restrict seriously and, in our case, make almost impossible to receive a fair hearing.
“The refusal of all the requests for disclosure to obtain correspondence between the parties concerned, the refusal to authorize the testimonies of the witnesses of the persons involved, and the general lack of formality and the respect of the average decisions of the law cannot be properly disputed, leading to predetermined results.
“UEFA’s decision has broader implications for sport governance. A combination of poorly designed regulations and their unequal application means that our brilliant fans will be deprived of the possibility of seeing this team compete in the Europa League for the first time in our history.
“It should be a turning point for football.
“UEFA must fulfill its mandate to adopt coherent rules that are properly communicated and applied, with reasonable healing periods to resolve uncertainty and coherent sanctions, treating all clubs also with an appropriate call process.
“The European Court of Justice has clearly indicated that decisions similar to it will be more examined by the national courts in the future. It is only then that fairness and regular procedure will be granted to each team.
“Although we continue to take legal advice on the next steps, we will participate in the league of the conference with the same determination and the desire to win that characterizes this incredible club.”
