The Venezuelan opposition calls for electoral boycott


In Venezuela, regional parliamentary elections take place today. The country remains one of the poorest in Latin America, and the regime of President Nicolás Maduro is accused of generalized human rights violations – including the torture, disappearance and imprisonment of political opponents. Many opposition leaders hide, following presidential elections which were largely condemned by the international community as fraudulent. To discuss the situation, Gavin Lee of France 24 is joined by Phil Gunson, principal analyst of the International Crisis group.
