Coreweave acquires an agent startup startup startup

Coreweave, which provides cloud servers to large companies that form AI models, has concluded an agreement to acquire OpenPipe, a 2 -year -old supported startup that helps companies develop personalized AI agents with strengthening learning, companies announced on Wednesday.

“The learning of strengthening has become a central force to strengthen the performance of the model on agency and reasoning tasks,” said Brian Venturo, co-founder of Coreweave, in a declaration in Techcrunch. “By combining the advanced openpipe self-learning tools with the AI ​​High Performance Cloud in Corewave, we are expanding our platform to give developers of AI laboratories and beyond an important advantage in the construction of evolving intelligent systems.”

Coreweave and OpenPipe did not disclose the terms of the agreement. In March 2024, the open-pipe pipe based in Seattle collected a seed lap of 6.7 million dollars, with donors, notably Costanoa Ventures, Y Combinator, Logan Kilpatrick from Google Deepmind, the co-founder of Github Tom Preston-Werner and the co-creator of Github Copilot Alex Graveley.

The agreement marks Coreweave’s last attempt to extend the battery, after its acquisition of the AI ​​developer platform, weights and prejudices, in March. OpenPipe develops a popular open source toolbox for the creation of AI agents called Art (agent strengthening agent). While many larger Coreweave customers include the main AI laboratories such as OpenAi, the company is also trying to call on small businesses.

An increasing number of laboratories and AI startups build corporate products around strengthening learning, which involves rewarding AI models for correct answers. Reinforcement learning has proven to be a strong way to improve the performance of an AI model on a specific task; The idea with these corporate products is to train AI agents specifically for the needs of a business.

This type of training specific to the customer requires a lot of IT resources and, by acquiring OpenPipe, Coreweave hopes both of food and to offer such services. The OpenPipe team will join Coreweave and OpenPipe customers will become Coreweave customers.
