Controversial Former WWE Star Compared To CM Punk

A controversial former WWE star has been surprisingly compared to CM Punk. During his career, the Second City Saint has seen his fair share of ups and downs in the industry. He left WWE in 2014 and has spoken out about his treatment by the company.
However, since returning to the promotion in 2023, he has been less of a combative figure and more of a mentor. Surprisingly, longtime WWE manager Bruce Prichard compared ex-WWE star Matt Riddle’s personality to that of Punk.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking on Something to fight forPrichard was asked if he had any frustrations working with talent in a promotion. He brought up Riddle and told him that he had to talk to him to understand him.
“Matt (Riddle) was also one of those guys that I think people didn’t really understand. One night I sat at the pool with Matt and drank a bunch of beers and talked to him and kind of figured it out,” he said.
Prichard said he compared Riddle to Punk because both were misunderstood.
“I compared him a lot to CM Punk in that he was misunderstood and people didn’t really understand who Matt Riddle was. I didn’t understand the brother thing, and talking to him, I understood. But you have to put in the time. It takes time to do that,” he added.
During his time in WWE, Riddle became the United States Champion and even held the tag team title with Randy Orton as part of RK-Bro. However, his tenure was marred by drug test failures and other controversies, which led to his release in September 2023.
Matt Riddle strengthened with CM Punk

In a separate conversation with TMZ SportsRiddle said Punk’s best wrestling days were behind him.
