Gill’s team eyeing Liam Livingstone and David Miller?

GT retained 20 players, leaving a maximum of 5 spots, including 4 overseas, to fill the squad with a purse of INR 12.90 crores.

Despite a very apparent middle-order weakness, Gujarat Titans (GT) not only won a few matches but also reached the Eliminator. This means that going into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, GT will just have to resolve this specific issue. They also have foreign slots, meaning they can add another dimension to an already impressive unit.

Purse and locations for IPL 2026 auction

GT has the third lowest purse for the IPL 2026 auction – INR 12.90 crore. However, since they have already retained 20 players and only need to fill 5 slots to reach the maximum of 25 players, they have more than enough money. At best, GT can acquire 4 foreign players, because they have already retained 4.

GT players should target IPL 2026 auctions

Gujarat will look to find a like-for-like replacement for the players they released. They will look to someone like Daniel Sams, Wiaan Mulder or Jason Holder to fill the versatile gap. In the spin department they could go for Michael Bracewell, George Linde or Liam Livingstone.

There will be plenty of fast bowlers, but finding a quality Indian pacer will be key. Someone like Simarjeet Singh or Akash Deep could be a good buy. GT might look to bring back David Miller, since they traded Sherfane Rutherford to Mumbai Indians.
