Chelsea hopes to make a second title in six weeks when they face PSG during the final of the club World Cup this weekend, and fans hope that it is the start of a golden era for the club.
There are some who support the Enzo Maresca team to challenge the title of Premier League next season, and some experts are also of this opinion. But not everyone is convinced.
Colalymore is not convinced by the chances of the Premier League of Chelsea
In his exclusive chronicle for elimination, Stan Colalymore gave his opinion on the question of whether Chelsea can contest the title of Premier League in 2025-2026.
“It is almost as if things had taken place in a huge ascending trajectory for Chelsea since the second half of the final of the League of the UEFA Conference against Real Betis. They won the trophy, so they now have a taste for trophies. The Club World Cup final will be the best challenge for world football in the moment.
“But looking at next season, I think it’s going to be difficult for Chelsea. The Premier League is the most difficult league in the world and they qualified for the Champions League on the right. But I saw many experts say that they could win the League. Everything is possible, but I think Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are significant before Chelsea.
“In November, December and January, they will have to rotate players because there is no way that their team can simply get two weeks off after this club world cup and be cool for the new season – no matter the number of players they buy. Even if you have 50 players and you start managing people’s minutes and freshness, change of teams often means changing results.”
It remains to be seen how Chelsea takes place on next season, but for the moment, the supporters focus on the final of the club World Cup.
