Colin Farrell reveals what motivates him to play ‘Penguin’ again and again

Colin Farrell to reprise role as Penguin in ‘The Batman Part II’

Colin Farrell, widely known for playing Oz the Cobb aka Penguin of Gotham, will once again reprise the lead role in the upcoming Batman sequel.

The scenario for The Batman Part II is over and a question arises in everyone’s minds: “if Matt Reeves’ new film will do justice to Oz after what viewers saw in the series The Penguin”.

In a recent conversation with Collider Perri Nemiroff, Farrell was asked if he had to decide before reprising the role for the new sequel.

The Academy-nominated actor admitted that he was always drawn to the character of Penguin because of director Reeves’ vision.

Colin opened, “I love that world. I mean, I’ve loved it as a movie fan since Batman ’66. I grew up watching that, and Burgess Meredith was my first penguin, and then Danny DeVito was my second penguin.”

He even praised the work of Christopher Nolan. But he finds Matt’s vision unique.

Farrell truly admires the struggles of Gotham City and the psychological struggles of Bruce Wayne and Batman’s character shown by the 59-year-old filmmaker.

“Just being a part of that world… Honestly, just being in something that takes place in Gotham, where a character called Bruce Wayne and Batman exist, is such a joy for me,” added the In Bruges star.

Colin recently starred in Netflix Ballad of a little player.
