High potential finally revealed what was in Roman’s backpack as Morgan continued his search.

During the Tuesday, October 21 episode of the hit ABC series, Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and Ava (Amirah J.) were missing, which meant Roman’s backpack remained closed. It wasn’t until the end of the episode that Morgan revealed the contents of the bag, which implied that Roman was keeping track of his daughter.

One of the items in the backpack showed that Roman had attended Ava’s dance recital when she was younger. This proved that Roman still cared about Ava, even after her mysterious disappearance. Morgan said she wasn’t sure about the rest of the items in the backpack, but she wasn’t giving up her search for her ex.

The season 1 finale aired in February and confirmed that Morgan’s ex-Roman was still alive after disappearing for over a decade. “I think frustration is a good thing for an audience. It’s a healthy frustration – don’t give them too much of what they want too soon,” Harthan noted of “deepening” the mystery. “I’d be totally lying if I said I had all the answers to this mystery. The wonderful thing about welcoming other minds into the room is how we make sure we don’t miss that ball and tell this story in the most satisfying way imaginable. But there’s some cool stuff coming.”
