Dollar General has issued a voluntary recall of instant coffee sold in its stores across the country for potential glass contamination reports.
The company announced the recall Monday after a customer alerted the employees of the presence of glass parts in their coffee grounds. The recall was made with the knowledge of the Food & Drug Administration.
The recalled products include instant coffee packages from Clover Valley of 8 ounces with certain lot numbers and the dates of the best.

The impacted products have an UPC packaging of 876941004069. The products include those with lot numbers L-5163 and L-5165 with a better by date of December 13, as well as L-5165 with a better on December 14.
The product was sold in all states except Alaska and Hawaii.
No illness or injury has been reported as part of the recall, said the company.

“The ingestion of glass fragments can cause consumer injury, and these injuries may include damage to the teeth, the laceration of the mouth and the throat, or the perforation of the intestine,” said the company in its ad.
Customers who bought this product are encouraged to throw it away and contact Dollar General to request a refund.

Dollar General said that he actively investigated the source of glass contamination and apologized for any disadvantage.
