Laila Ali says she won’t come out of retirement and Claressa Shields calls her ‘scared, old and bitter’
On Thursday, October 30, Ali posted a twenty-six minute YouTube video featuring “receipts and documented evidence” to show that Shields’ claim that Ali would “come out of retirement for a $15 million fight offer…was false and taken out of context.” »
About seventeen minutes into the video, Ali spoke about whether Shields made her “crazy enough” to come out of retirement and get in the ring with her.
“Absolutely not. After years of blatant lies and vile disrespect, unsolicited negative remarks about me, questioning the legitimacy of my boxing heritage and having the audacity to cross the line by disrespecting my deceased father, trying to use his name to discredit his daughter…she will not be rewarded with the opportunity to share the ring with me or anything else,” Ali said.
Shields apparently caught wind of Ali’s video and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday, calling Ali “scared, old and bitter.”
On Friday, October 31, Shields returned to the platform and wrote: “You will all be fooled by anything’I won’t reward her with a fight. How are you going to reward me by supposedly knocking me out… being eliminated is not a reward. All that barking no biting ‘we all know she can’t break a grape’ But you don’t want to get hit by me though.

As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, Laila Ali seemed to note that she could possibly step into the ring with Claressa Shields for a payday of $15 million to $20 million.
Shields allegedly secured the bag. But Ali made it clear that she doesn’t move on anyone’s time, but her own, according to The Shade Room.
