According to Sky Sport, Chelsea are currently working on the signing of AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The French goalkeeper was targeted during the summer transfer window by Chelsea but the Blues failed to recruit him but remained interested in him.

Although Robert Sanchez remains their first choice goalkeeper, they are looking for a more reliable presence.

Chelsea are ready to make way for Mike Maignan

To make way for a new goalkeeper at the club, with obvious interest in Maginan, the Blues are looking to get rid of Filip Jorgensen to recruit another goalkeeper.

According to the report, Chelsea have opened discussions with the AC Milan goalkeeper’s representatives regarding a transfer next year.

Maignan has made it clear that he is not interested in extending his contract at AC Milan and dreams of moving to the Premier League.

He is ready to test himself in England, a country where he has long dreamed of playing football.

The Italian giants have realized they have no chance of keeping the French goalkeeper at the club and are now reviewing their options.

Maresca’s Chelsea face competition from Juventus, who are looking for a replacement for goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.

Even though Juventus are closely monitoring Maignan, it is still Chelsea who hold the advantage in the race for the French goalkeeper’s signature as they have a promising project and are ready to offer him the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League.
