Chef BLS Trump’s dismissal will mean better precision of the work number: Lunick

The secretary of commerce, Howard Lunick, predicted that the report on the jobs of the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday would be more precise because President Donald Trump dismissed former commissioner Erika Mcentarfer last month.
Lutnick did this prediction less than an hour before employment growth had stopped in August.
“I think they will be better,” said Lodenick to “Squawk Box” from CNBC after being asked if people should believe that BLS figures will be accurate.
This is because “you will eliminate people who just try to create noise against the president,” he said.
“The retained of the Biden administration” were “rooted against America and against Donald Trump, and that must end,” said Lunick in response to another question on the question of whether the Trump administration now considers credible BLS.
“So he cannot replace someone two weeks ago, and you expect a fundamental change, but what you will get is an agency that is [Trump’s] On the side, just trying to do your best and turn off the right figures, “he said.
Trump had dismissed Mcentarfer on August 1, a few hours after his agency reported that employment growth in the United States had slowed considerably in July.
MCentarfer was appointed by former president Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate in 2024.
The latest BLS report has shown that the non -agitated wage bill increased by only 22,000 in August, well below the expectations of economists for 75,000. The unemployment rate also reached 4.3% for the month.
Trump, asked Thursday evening if he could commit to saying that the upcoming data of BLS jobs would be credible, refused to do so.
“We will see what the number – I don’t know, they go out tomorrow,” said Trump.
“But the real figures I’m talking about will be what it will be, but will be in a year” when the job data is “absolutely incredible,” he said.
