CFB analyst slams Carson Beck, Hurricanes as underdogs for national championship game vs. Indiana

Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes take on the Indiana Hoosiers in the college football national championship game. The Hurricanes are coming off a close win over the Ole Miss Rebels, while the Hoosiers eliminated the Oregon Ducks.

The bookmakers consider Miami to be underdogs with a touchdown before the big game. However, CFB analyst Dan Le Batard considers this prediction confusing.

“Miami shouldn’t be an underdog for anyone playing college football. It’s stupid, but that’s just because of the way the last two games went, and I give Indiana all the credit in the world,

“When they played Penn State against the Penn State athletes, it was a close game. When they went to Iowa, it was a close game. It was with the same (Fernando) Mendoza.” said The Bastard.

The Hoosiers remain undefeated heading into the championship game. They are looking to become the first team in the 12-team playoff era to win it all without a loss. In their way is a Carson Beck-led Hurricanes team that narrowly made the playoffs and was written off multiple times.

It will be a battle between elite coaches as Miami’s Mario Cristobal takes on Indiana’s Curt Cignetti. Interestingly, both coaches worked with Nick Saban on the Alabama Crimson Tide years ago.

Carson Beck’s Miami seeks first national championship since 2001

The Miami Hurricanes were once considered one of college football’s true powers. They have won five national championships and can count NFL icons Andre Johnson, Ted Hendricks, Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp, Ed Reed, Jim Kelly and Ray Lewis among their alumni.

However, the Hurricanes haven’t won a national championship since 2001. Larry Coker was their head coach then and Ed Reed was arguably their star player.

Mario Cristobal will lead his troops against Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers. It’s a game that holds great importance for both coaches and their teams.

Cristobal has slowly but surely put together a crop of winners. The team is led by backup quarterback Carson Beck, a two-time national champion. Beck won two national championships with the Georgia Bulldogs, as he played as a backup to Stetson Bennett. He’s looking for that third and first as a starter.

Fernando Mendoza is one masterful performance away from closing out his college career in style. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner will want to finish his CFB career with Indiana’s first.
