K9 Esports finished runner-up (second place) at the BGMI Showdown 2025, narrowly missing out on a direct berth to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 Gauntlet Stage. With the upcoming BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2025 scheduled for October 31 to November 2, the team is gearing up for another chance to qualify for the 2025 PMGC. Inside Sports caught up with NINJABOa key player in K9 Esports, to discuss his Showdown journey, lessons learned and plans for BMIC 2025.

Q: You narrowly missed the PMGC Gauntlet Stage direct slot. What do you think of your performance today?

A: We choked on the first day of the BGMI Showdown 2025 Grand Finals. On the last day we played well, but the zero games (2-3) on the first day cost us direct qualification for the PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Stage slot. Regarding qualification for PMGC 2025, BMIC 2025 will take place from October 31 to November 2. We will do our best to qualify for PMGC 2025 through BMIC 2025.

Q: What were the key moments or decisions in the final matches that you think determined the results?

A: So far, we haven’t thought much about international teams. After the conclusion of BMSD 2025, we will have a meeting to discuss the strategy and gameplay of the BGMI International Cup 2025.

Q: What lessons did you learn from this Showdown that will help you in future international competitions?

A: From BGMI Showdown 2025, we learned that every point is crucial to win the trophy. No game should end with zero points, as this will interrupt the momentum of the game and affect future games.

Q: How confident are you about securing a PMGC spot through other routes, given your current momentum?

A: As OnePlus K9 Esports, we were confident of winning the BGMI Showdown 2025 trophy, but unfortunately, we missed it. In BGMI International Cup 2025, also known as BMIC 2025, we will give our best performance and play better this time. Since there will be 8 international teams, we will give them a tough competition and aim to win the trophy.

Q: Which team could be an obstacle for you to win the BMIC 2025 trophy and secure a place for the PMGC 2025? We saw in the India-Korea Invitational that DPlus won by beating Indian teams.

A: We haven’t played any Korean or Japanese teams yet, so we can’t say which team might pose a challenge. But we will play with the mentality that no team can stop us from winning the BGMI International 2025 trophy and securing our place in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025.
