Celtic could re-sign “Elite” star of 7 million pounds sterling

2025 was the year of the hero returning to Celtic Park so far.

Kieran Tierney returned to Celtic, six years after his departure, according to the traces of Jota, who joined the hoops during the January transfer window.

So now, Brendan Rodgers, who is no stranger to a Glasgow himself, will he meet with a star that he once labeled one of the best young players in Europe?

After finishing his return to his childhood club last week, Tierney said that it was “incredible” to be back, adding “my ambition is just for Celtic to be as successful as possible”.

Rodgers also exclaimed that he was “delighted” to add a talented and high quality player “to his team, while Tierney is undoubtedly a favorite of fans in the East End End of Glasgow, having passed through the Academy to make 170 appearances for the club during his first spell, winning 11 major trophies.

So, although there is a major excitement to see on the left back decorated in green and white hoops, could an even larger talent also be back later this summer?

Celtic search for a new striker

The return of Tierney to Parkhead this summer met Glee, but when has a left back was more exciting than a new attacker? No doubt never.

The Scottish has the potential to come back and be a roaring success on the left canals, discovering the opportunities for goals at will for its teammates, but which will be at the end of its stacking balls in the box? Well, another Celtic return could be on the cards and it’s more catchy than Tierney.

Indeed, as Ryan McDonald of The Daily Record noted, Celtic could re-signate the striker Odsonne Édouard this summer, with the former midfielder for Celtic Scott Allan, believing that the club should not think twice if they are able to add a “fantastic player” to their ranks.

The attacker initially arrived in Parkhead on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, marking at his beginnings against Hamilton Academical in New Douglas Park, before his move was made permanent the following summer, costing 9 million pounds sterling of record club.

In total, Édouard scored 87 goals in 179 appearances for the Celts, figures comparable to the other major centers of the Modern Times Club.

As indicated by John Percy du Telegraph, having presented for Palace and Leicester in 2024/25, FIFA regulations stipulate that he could not represent a third club during the same season.

Thus, Édouard remained blocked in the proverbial desert from January, despite the fact that the Foxes beat all kinds of records with regard to not scoring, including losing eight successive premier league games in Nile, an unprecedented race miserable.

Nevertheless, another 27 years, the attacker certainly still has a lot to offer.

When Édouard permanently signed for Celtic in the first place, Rodgers called it one of the “Elite Young Talents” of European football. Although he may not be too young yet, he always has an elite potential, especially if it takes him again in Scotland.

Still looking for a replacement by Kyōgo Furuhashi, if French becomes available at a cut price, it would surely be obvious.
