CB Commander Marshon Lattimore faces weapons charge

Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore faces a weapons charge following a traffic stop near Cleveland.
Lattimore, 29, was arrested Wednesday evening in Lakewood, Ohio. He was taken into custody and later released, according to police records.
He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and could face a second charge of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
“We have been informed of the arrest and are gathering more information,” commanders said in a statement Thursday. “We have informed the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time.”
Lattimore is a four-time Pro Bowl selection who just completed his first full season with Washington. He recorded one interception and 27 tackles in nine starts before landing on injured reserve with a torn ACL on November 4.
The New Orleans Saints traded Lattimore to the Commanders on November 5, 2024. He has one season remaining on his five-year contract worth $97.6 million and his base salary is $16.5 million in 2026, according to Spotrac.
A first-round pick (11th overall) of the Saints in 2017, Lattimore has 16 interceptions, 98 passes defended, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and 436 tackles in 108 career regular season games (all starts) with New Orleans (2017-24) and Washington (2024-25).
Lattimore, a Cleveland native, was previously arrested in his hometown in March 2021 and was initially charged with receiving a stolen firearm. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced to one year of probation and a 180-day suspended jail sentence.
