Candace Cameron Bure Calls Past Feuds ‘Weird’ and Says She’s Not Interested in Fighting
Bure may be the lovable DJ Tanner on “Full House,” but her real life has been a topic of discussion more than once over the years, particularly during her time on “The View,” where she spoke openly about polarizing issues.
Bure’s stances on issues such as traditional family values and American politics have sparked some reactions from major celebrities, including JoJo Siwa and her “Full House” co-star Jodi Sweetin.

Why Candace Cameron Bure isn’t interested in fighting
Bure has been criticized online several times, and it’s rare to see her applauding.
“I don’t usually fight back in comments because nothing really comes of it,” she told Prewett. “I feel like when you fight back in the comments, it becomes defensive. I feel like the more people defend themselves, the less integrity they have.”
According to Bure, she has now entered a space in which she lets “God fight my battles…online.”
And God isn’t the only one the 49-year-old relies on to defend her against criticism.
“I also let other people who are true fans fight for me too,” she said. “Because sometimes they come in and say, ‘She’s not doing that. That’s not what she meant by that.’ And so I’m like, ‘You can do this.'”

Candace Cameron Bure relies on her faith to get through tough times online

Elsewhere during the podcast, Bure admitted that it takes immense faith and “self-control” to ignore some of the hate that sometimes fills one’s social media feeds.
“You say to yourself, ‘God, I just have to let this go because I’m not going to please everyone, and just help me make my way that honors and pleases You as best I can. Help me learn and discern,'” she said. “This is the most important thing.”
Bure also admitted that her introspection helped her learn to give “grace” to others as well.
“I pray that the Holy Spirit gives me self-control every day, especially in these situations, because it’s brutal because you can’t win,” she said.

JoJo Siwa called out Bure in a TikTok video

Bure has certainly had her share of public arguments, and the one that stunned netizens the most was with “Dance Moms” alum JoJo Siwa.
Years ago, Siwa made a TikTok video criticizing the “Fuller House” star for allegedly being rude to her when she was a child.
The two eventually spoke and Siwa expressed regret for her video until she claimed to have learned about “shady things she did and shady organizations she worked with.”
Siwa was referring to Bure’s stance on “traditional marriage,” which she said would remain a priority at the Great American Family network, where she serves as chief content officer.
“Honestly, no real shade for Cameron anymore, I just wouldn’t have him on my podcast, you know what I mean?” Siwa said. “If I saw her, I just wouldn’t say hello.”

Bure’s co-stars talk about their different dynamics

Another celebrity who has spoken out about her dynamic with Bure is her ex-co-star, Sweetin.
The couple played sisters on the ABC sitcom from 1987 to 1995 and then again in the 2016 Netflix revival.
Sweetin spoke candidly about their dynamic during an episode of “The Vault,” according to PEOPLE, sharing that while she and Bure have differing opinions, they never “got into it.”
“She posted her views and I posted mine. We’ve always been very different on these topics,” she said. “Candace and I live very different lifestyles. We exist in very different worlds, but she’s still someone I’ve known since I was 5.”
