Canadian Teen, American Brianna is among the open qualifications for AIG women

The American Brianna Do and the Canadian Anna Huang were among the 17 players to win places in the Women’s Open AIG this week via the 18 -hole qualifier on Monday.
The Women AIG Open starts at the Royal Porthcawl in Wales on Thursday.
Huang, the youngest player in the European ladies’ tower at 16, posted the Low Round on Monday with his 4-sous 67 at the Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club. She was followed by Anna Foster of Ireland and Arpichaya Yubol in Thailand at 3 years old.
“I am delighted with my score,” said Huang, who is n ° 521 in the ranking of Rolex women. “I do not play golf links, so it took a few training laps to get used to it, but I think I managed it well enough. I played in the United States Open this year, so it will be my second major championship. I learned a lot this week and bring more patience this week will be very useful.”
Make, 35, tied to the eighth to 1 sous. The female champion of 2011 public amateur links will play in her first female open since 2016. Classified 351st, she was released from a T23 in June at the KPMG PGA female championship and a T59 three weeks ago at the Evian championship.
“A few years ago, I was for the first time for the Evian, and I did not enter, so I came to Scotland and I played a little golf course,” said Do. “I played the old course, Prestwick, Elie, so I played a little for fun, and it was incredible. I learned a little there but not in one sense of the tournament.”
Among the five Americans who failed in the qualifications, there was Danielle Kang, major champion and quadruple of the United States Cup, who pulled out of 73. Although he did not qualify for his 13th Women’s Open, Kang said that she was not disappointed.
“Not even a little,” she said. “I met incredibly great people here. I was able to play with a bunch of members in Porthcawl, and I got to know everyone in Pyle and Kenfig. It was great.”
Australia Hira Naveed (69) and Momoko Kobori from New Zealand (70), Pepperdine de Pepperdine teammates from 2017 to 29, both qualified. The 17 qualifications for the field of 144 golfers this week ended under the peer.
