The post comes at just the right time for the wide receiver and the New England Patriots (13-3). The team secured a playoff berth after a 28–24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on December 21.
Drake Maye led the comeback, completing 31 of 44 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns. New England won the AFC East on Sunday after the Buffalo Bills lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Diggs leads the Patriots with 82 catches for 970 yards and four touchdowns. The team is expected to finish the regular season against the Miami Dolphins before advancing to the playoffs.
Reports emerged Tuesday that he faces a strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault charge related to an alleged incident that occurred on Dec. 2. A hearing was held in District Court in Dedham, Massachusetts. A judge must decide whether to seal documents in the case before Diggs’ Jan. 23 arraignment, scheduled before the AFC championship game.
The Patriots said they were aware of the accusations and that Diggs denied them. His lawyer, David Meier, also denied the claims and called them unproven.
All of this happened just days after Diggs and Cardi B spent Christmas apart. Their newborn son was with the rapper, while the receiver celebrated with his two older children from past relationships.
After facing heavy criticism online, Cardi B responded in a video posted to X on Monday.
“Y’all need to calm down,” Cardi B said. “Are you cool? Y’all been dragging me for like three or four days. Y’all got and y’all been a little too mean. I can’t change shit, I can’t turn back time. I already had a baby.”
The Coupe welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in November.

Stefon Diggs apparently faked his proposal to Cardi B on the NFL field
Stefon Diggs appeared to make a fake proposition to Cardi B after the Patriots’ blowout win over the Jets on Sunday.
As the rapper joined him on the court, a viral clip showed Diggs getting down on one knee in front of her, imitating a proposal.
However, instead of pulling out a ring, he laughed and stood up.
Cardi B wore a fuchsia tweed piece from Karl Lagerfeld’s fall/winter 1991 collection, inspired by Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde.”
New England won 42-10 at MetLife Stadium, clinching the AFC East title.
