Caitlin Clark as a fever meets Mighty Lynx for the commissioner’s cup

Minneapolis – Caitlin Clark was excluded for the WNBA commissioner’s cup between Indiana fever and Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday evening.
Clark said earlier this week that she was pushing to play after the fever had listed her on a daily basis. Its availability in the future remains uncertain.
“Do my best to put me in position to play the next match. It’s still my goal,” said Clark on Monday.
The fever (8-8) could have used his best player in his deepest match of the season. They will play the Lynx (14-2) during the league championship match in the League season, which is delivered with a prize pool of $ 500,000 and donations to the charitable organizations chosen by the winning and losers team.
Lynxs seek to publish consecutive titles after winning the Commissioner’s Cup against the New York Liberty in 2024. La Liberty obtained her revenge on the lynx in the WNBA final.
The Lynx star Napheesa Collier said she expects an intense atmosphere in Minneapolis.
“I think it will look like an eliminatory match,” said necklace. “It will be really fun. Our fans arise for us in each match, but especially in this environment. … It will be electrifying.”
Clark grew up in neighboring iowa as a fan passionate about the lynx, and she attracted crowds of supporters to Minnesota during her collegial career with Iowa Hawkeyes as well as during her first season in the WNBA.
Without it in alignment on Tuesday, Kelsey Mitchell will be necessary to carry the score. She leads fever with 18.9 points per game this season.
It will be the first appearance of fever in the title match of the commissioner’s cup.
“These are the moments on which we are going to look back,” said Clark. “Everyone has gone through a little adversity here. (I am) granted to our group to be able to stay together and know that everything in our locker room is all we need to win.
“Really proud of our group, every day.”
Collar feels the same thing about the lynx. She heads the team with 24.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, and she appeared in consecutive matches after a back injury put her away for the two previous competitions.
Kayla McBride on average 15.8 points for Minnesota, and Courtney Williams completes the three best scorers with 12.9 points per game. It also ranks fourth in the WNBA with 6.0 assists per game.
Lynx goalkeeper Karlie Samuelson left her last game due to a foot injury, and her status for Tuesday evening is uncertain. It has an average of 3.3 points in 16 games (four departures).
The fever will also be without attacker Damiris Dantas, who plays for Brazil in an international tournament. Dantas is on average 5.0 points in 13 games on the bench.
