Brazil’s defeat against Japan is ‘unacceptable’

Brazil’s friendly defeat to Japan has been described as “unacceptable” by captain Casemiro as his side prepare for next year’s World Cup finals.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team led 2-0 in Tokyo thanks to goals from Paulo Henrique and Gabriel Martinelli.
But the visitors collapsed after the break. Takumi Minamino, Keito Nakamura and Ayase Ueda find the net to record a famous victory.
Brazil have won the World Cup five times, but not since 2002, and Manchester United midfielder Casemiro says that even in a friendly, losing the lead in this way is a concern.
“It was a blackout from everyone on our side in the second half,” he said.
“This is the highest level, if you fall asleep for a whole half it can cost you a World Cup, a Copa America, an Olympic medal.
“This is simply unacceptable and we have to learn from it because the World Cup is only a few months away. We have to take care of the details because they can cost you everything.”
