Braves Star Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) to come back on Friday

Atlanta Braves’ star Ronald Acuna Jr. will be activated by the injured list before the series is opened against the San Diego Padres on Friday evening and will play in his first match in almost 12 months.
The 2023 National League MVP torn the ACL in its left knee on May 26, 2024. The activation will occur three days before the birthday of the injury.
“Ronald will be released (Friday),” said Braves manager Brian Snitker after a loss of road from 8-7 and 10 rounds against the Washington Nationals on Thursday evening. “We spoke after I told you about the guys (pre-match) and decided rather than playing a game (Thursday evening) in Louisville and removing (Friday), he could withdraw today and come and play with us (Friday).

After Abuna was a healthy scratch of the Triple-A Gwinnett programming on Thursday evening, Word began to circulate that he would return to the majors on Friday.
Acuna, 27, played the whole match in the right field for Gwinnett on Wednesday and informed Snitker that the knee felt good.
“It will be as soon as possible,” Snitker told Acuna’s return to journalists before Thursday’s competition.
Acuna was 6 for 15 with two circuits and two points produced in six rehabilitation games. He dominated the team of Braves Florida Complex League in his first match on May 13 and spent the rest of his visit to play for Gwinnett.
Acuna injured her knee last season while taking a big lead about the second goal against Pittsburgh Pirates. He underwent surgery on June 6.
Acuna struck 0.250 with four circuits, 15 products produced and 16 interceptions in 49 games last season before the injury.
In 2023, Acuna was the unanimous MVP while he was 41 circuits and stole 73 best major league bases to display the first 40-70 season in the history of the MLB. He struck .337 and led the majors with 149 points, 217 sure and a basic percentage .416.
His historic campaign occurred two years after having supported a torn right ACL on July 10, 2021 and missed the rest of this season.
Since he made his debut in the major league in 2018 at 20, Acuna struck 0.289 with a basic percentage of 0.379, a percentage of strike blows of 0.525, 165 circuits, 417 points produced and 196 interceptions in 722 games on seven seasons. It is an All-Star quadruple.
