A rare blend of charm, strength and sensitivity, Dharmendra defined an era where action meets emotion. Dharmendra’s first triumph in the world of entertainment came through a talent hunt organized by Filmfare. This encouraged him to move to Mumbai to try his hand at films as a lead actor.

Dharmendra got his first big break in Arjun Hingorani My heart is mine, we are mine (1960). But his first big success came in the form of Shola and Shabnam (1961). He followed with Anpadh (1962) and the Bimal Roy classic Bandini (1963).
