Commerce secretary Howard Lunick said on Wednesday that the administration is expected to launch a registration website for the presidency Donald Trump Gold cards in the near future.
Trump presented the gold card as “better and more sophisticated” than a green card and would allow “most successful people to create work from around the world to buy a path to citizenship”. Candidates would pay $ 5 million for a Gold Card Visa.
Lutnick was interviewed by the co-founder of Axios, Mike Allen, during the “Building The Future” event on Wednesday and said the administration launches the registration website in about a week.
“I expect there to be a website called Trumpcard.gov in about a week, details will come shortly after, but people can start to register. And everything will come back on a question of the next few weeks – not for weeks,” said Lutnick.

He continued by saying that he considers gold cards as potentially collect 1 billion of dollars in federal funds if there are 200,000 beneficiaries.
“We get 280,000 visas per day now free of charge, not to mention the 20 million people who have burst into this country for nothing under Biden,” he said. “And, therefore, I want you to think about it. The United States currently offers a similar program via EB-5 Immigrant investor programwhich has been in place since 1990 and is administered by the American service of citizenship and immigration (USCIS).
According to the USCIS website, the VISA is open to investors who “make the necessary investment in a commercial enterprise in the United States” and “plan to create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified American workers”.
