Marc Guehi ready for transfer talks with Bayern on January 1

Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl is reportedly planning talks with Crystal Palace centre-back and Liverpool transfer target Marc Guehi on January 1.
The England international is nearing the end of his contract with Palace and is free to begin negotiating a transfer for next season from January.
This only applies to foreign clubs, which could give Bayern an advantage over Liverpool, who also remain interested, according to Sky Germany.
Marc Guehi ready to discuss Bayern Munich transfer face-to-face
According to the report, Eberl is now expected to meet directly with Guehi to negotiate a move to Bayern, with the Bundesliga giants reportedly very interested in the 25-year-old.
It appears Eberl has already had contact with Guehi’s representatives, and he will now look to make contact with the player himself in an attempt to put his club in pole position.
This could be bad news for Liverpool, and it dovetails well with a recent report from The Athletic which stated that they were no longer favorites to sign Guehi despite coming so close to signing him this summer.
Where should Marc Guéhi go next?
Palace fans will probably be hoping that Guehi chooses to move abroad instead of joining a Premier League rival, but what would be the best decision for the player himself?
Fellow Englishman Harry Kane has really enjoyed his time at Bayern so far, so this could be a tempting move for Guehi if he wants to ensure he plays for a top club in the Champions League and challenge for major trophies.
Vincent Kompany is also doing a hugely impressive job at Bayern, so one imagines many of the best players in the world would be tempted to go there at the moment.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have been on a very rapid descent since winning the Premier League title last season.
Guehi may no longer be so sure about a move to Anfield as it is not even guaranteed that they will be able to deliver Champions League football next season.
LFC could really make Guehi pick them, as they need a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, while Ibrahima Konate’s future is uncertain as he is also expected to be out of contract at the end of this campaign.
