Juddmonte International: Field of Gold of Gold from Gosdens in Miss York after the defeat of Goodwood | Racing news

The gold field will bypass the international issues of Juddmonte de York as it continues its recovery of the reverse suffered when it has suffered a shock defeat in Goodwood last week.
The 2,000 Guineas and Royal Ascot Hero by John and Thady Gosden were discovered as lame after having tasted defeat for the second time this season in Sussex Stakes and although there are encouraging signs in its recovery, one step up to 10 furlongs on the Knavesmire was excluded by his team.
Kingman’s son will suffer X -rays on Wednesday, which will give a clearer indication of the prognosis, the European director of the Juddmonte race, Barry Mahon, saying: “The horse is doing well and was the sound of return, which is good.
“He has a little swelling in his fetlock but John and Thady are much happier with him, so the plan is to make the radiography on Wednesday – they have just repelled him a day, because the more clear the image you can.
“This will give us more information and if the radiography is clear, we can, hopefully, start again in a light exercise towards the end of the week or at the beginning of next week.
“York is certainly not going to be at this stage.”
Having dazzled by claiming the classic honors in Ireland and burning the victory of St James Palace Stakes at the Royal Reunion, there was a lot of conversation that Field of Gold will try to repeat these heroic on a trip or to continue to be the remarkable interpreter of the year to eight pilgls.
The Juddmonte star holds entries both in the Moulin Prix (Paislongchamp, September 7) and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Ascot, October 18) to a mile later in the countryside, when he could still test the waters at a distance in the entries of Irish champion Royal Bahrain of Leopardstown on September 13.
However, the name of the Colt was missing in particular in the entrances to the Qipco Champion Stakes further the same afternoon as its commitment to Qeii, the planning of the race currently taking a rear seat until one of the best of the season returns in great shape.
Mahon added: “It was the pre-goodwood plan to stay at a mile for the moment and obviously, there was no discussion on potential races from Goodwood, we will just have to let the dust settle and let it get back into the exercise, then when it is in good shape, make a plan from there.
“You enter this period of the year when there is not an abundance of opportunities and there is the mill, the Qeii or you go up to a mile and a quarter for the races at this distance.
“So I wouldn’t say there are a huge amount of options, but we will wait and we will see and let the horse tell us.”
