Antim panghal creates history by gaining bronze

The Indian struggle star, Antim Panghal, turned out once again when she won a bronze medal on day 6 (Thursday, September 18) of the world wrestling championships in Zagreb. The 19-year-old dominated Jonna Malmgren 9-1 of Sweden in the 53 kg female bronze fight, showing complete control from start to finish.
With this victory, Antim became the first Indian wrestler to obtain consecutive medals at the world championships, adding to the bronze that she won in Belgrade last year. She scored throughout the fight, combining withdrawals and counters to guarantee a comfortable victory and another podium finish for India.
Manisha Bhanwala also appeared in Women’s Freestyle on Day 6, in competition in the 62 kg rehearsal tour. She faced Bulgaria Bilyana Dudova, former world champion, and lost 0-9, ending her hopes for a medal.
Greco-Roman wrestlers fall in the first round at the world wrestling championships


The Greco-Roman wrestlers of India had a difficult outing because the four participants were eliminated during their opening matches. In the 55 kg category, Anil Mor lost 0-8 against Eldaniz Azizli in Azerbaijan in the qualification round, unable to go on the dashboard. Aman, in competition in the 77 kg division, faced Nao Kusaka of Japan in the round of 16 and suffered a defeat by technical superiority (0-8), ending his campaign.
Rahul, who was in action in the 82 kg category, dropped 1-7 to Almir Tolebayev in Kazakhstan during the qualification round. In the heavy class of 130 kg, Sonu was exceeded 0-8 by Marko Koscevic in Croatia, who marked his challenge early. None of the Greco-Roman wrestlers managed to resume, which led to a day without a medal for India in this category.
Antim’s bronze medal maintains the count of the India medal and maintains the country’s presence on the podium during this year championships. With the conclusion of the female freestyle competition, Focus will now have gone to the final series of Greco-Roman weight categories, scheduled for the last day of the competition.
