American civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin dies at 86


Claudette Colvin, who refused to give up her seat on a segregated Alabama bus in 1955, a few months before Rosa Parks, has died at the age of 86, her foundation announced Tuesday. Colvin was 15 at the time. Her foundation said she left a legacy of courage that helped change American history.
