American Beer Act of Missouri to reduce taxes on local craft brasseries

Missouri’s Republican Governor Mike Kehoe signed a bill Thursday, reducing American beer taxes in its state, which aims to electrify the Malt industry and American manufacturing and jobs, said the Governor of Show Me, Fox Digital.

“The American Beer Act will help strengthen the beer industry and the manufacturing sector in the Missouri and the United States,” Kehoe told Fox News Digital of the new law. Kehoe signed the bill Thursday at the St. Louis of Anheuser-Busch brewery, the long-standing American beer headquarters.

“With this law, we do not only support the Missouri beer industry, as well as farmers, suppliers and retailers who help to brew and serve American beers – we also give the example of how we can support American manufacturers, the jobs they create and the impact they have on their local communities.”

Called the American Beer Act, the new law will reduce the Missouri excise tax on American breweries – massive operations to the brasseries of the store. More specifically, the bill emphasizes that the current law requires that the Missouri Department of Return Perceived $ 1.86 per barrel for all malt liqueurs for inspection purposes. After January 1, 2026, this tax will be reduced to $ 0.62 per barrel for all malt alcohols manufactured in an American brewery and to keep the tax of $ 1.86 per barrel on imported malt drinks.

Sherry Wohlgemuth, who is executive director of the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild, said that the successful adoption of the American Beer Act is a “victory for local entrepreneurship, for the Missouri dynamic craft beer scene, and for beer lovers everywhere”.

“The American Beer Act offers essential financial relief for local Missouri brewers, allowing them to reinvest in their businesses, retain employees and continue to grow,” continued Wohlgemuth. “And just as important, serves an excellent example on how we can recognize the contributions that American manufacturing provides to the economy, culture and tourism of our state.”

She added that the new law will directly help the show of more than 170 artisanal breweries of the State, many of which are small family businesses, while noting that Missouri “opens the way” so that other states join them to support American manufacturing.

“For more than 170 craft brasseries of Missouri – many of which are small family businesses – the American Beer Act represents real and tangible support,” continued Wohlgemuth. “These breweries create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods and promote the community in the cities of our state.”
