“ Always cheaper than command on ” ‘applications: the user reveals a hacking to avoid Zomato, Swiggy

A social media user recently shared a hacking to order online food without having to pay delivery costs or platform fees. The user, identified as Krisha, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that she stopped using food delivery applications such as Zomato and Swiggy.

She said that she simply called her regular places to place her order, then receives the order using a delivery service such as Rapido or Uber Courier.

“I stopped using Zomato / Swiggy. Now, I just call my regular places, they pack the food and I send Uber / Rapido to pick it up. Even after 50-100 ₹ The delivery cost, it is always cheaper than ordering on applications (thanks to its ballizations, platform fees, commissions). Net profitable,” wrote the user.

Shortly after his message became viral on social networks, other users shared their own stories. “Our regular place in Mumbai has 2 sizes of portions. 1 for zomato / swiggy controls and 1 for direct orders. Direct orders also saved us money and larger portions,” said a user.

“Okay. Zomato and Swiggy plunder customers. Yesterday, I analyzed and discovered that the drop in pre-GST rates was cheaper than the drop in post-GST prices because they have increased delivery partner, packaging costs, etc. This was not expected of you,” wrote a second user.

“Recently, I went to KFC and I ordered food 1 km from my house. Since I ordered chicken pieces, it was already and I got my food in 5 minutes. I just checked Zomato, the same food showed 850 when my bill really was 550. Just 5 minutes waiting for 300 years,” said a third user.

Some others, however, were against the user method to order food.

“Zomato and Swiggy fees are boring, but at least they manage the mess … Your method changes you everything,” said a user.

A user commented: “In the end, Zomato only solves this problem. It is a huge call center that treats commands at a shiny speed. But the call model is not scalable, otherwise Zomato itself would have adapted it. They built software for a reason.”

“It is an intelligent approach to reduce hidden costs. The key is to balance savings with convenience, and if your local spots provide a reliable service, this method is perfectly logical,” said another user.
