Alouettes QB Davis Alexander Back

The quarter Davis Alexander is expected to come back from an absence of eight games on Friday when the Montreal Alouettes welcome the Calgary Stampeders.
Alexander was sidelined by an injury to the hamstrings whom he initially suffered in the second half of a 38-28 victory in Edmonton on June 19. He returned a little less than a month later, but aggravated the injury while marking the winning hit in a 26-25 victory against Toronto.
Alexander will put his 8-0 record as a starter on the line on Friday while the Alouettes (7-7) are competing for their third consecutive victory.
“It’s fun to be back here. I love playing football,” said Alexander, according to the Montreal Gazette. “It was difficult, but honestly, every day, everyone in the organization made me move forward. I saw the way these guys played every match and practiced.
“There were difficult circumstances,” he continued. “I think that at one point, nine or 10 runners had come out, but they continued to fight. It inspired me. I did my part, and the medical staff were incredible to help me guide and keep me motivated.”
Alexander was sidelined due to an injury when his replacement, McLeod Bethel-Thompson, made 30 passes out of 40 for 280 yards and a touchdown in the Montreal victory 23-21 in Calgary on July 24.
The opposing quarter, Vernon Adams Jr. was limited to 193 yards by the pass before leaving this match with an injury to the Stampeders (8-5), who dropped two in a row.
Adams was confirmed to start the match on Friday after being injured in the back in Calgary last week by Calgary by the Lions of British Columbia.
“The key for me and as a team is that you have to learn from it, although there is a reason,” said Dave Dickenson, director general / head coach of the Stampeders, about the loss of his team against British Columbia “you have to be things that we have for acquired. You have not spent the time or I have not prepared them.”
Calgary’s famous defense took the chin last week from the Lions Nathan Rourke Lions.
The defense of Stampeders is on average 22.8 points of LCF per match and the league in the second best 258.2 yards per competition per competition.
Montreal is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings with Calgary.
