Telstar, meanwhile, lost 3-2 at home to Ajax in the Eredivisie this weekend. They trailed 2-0 at the break after goals from Oscar Gloukh and Mika Godts. They were reduced to 10 men when Cedric Hatenboer was sent off eight minutes into the second half and Ajax took advantage when Youri Baas scored in the 72nd minute. The 22-year-old went from hero to zero when he scored an own goal in the 78th minute, while Danny Bakker reduced the deficit further late on.
The Velsen-Zuid side will now turn their attention to the Cup and booked their place at this stage with a 4-1 away win over Hoek. Almere eliminated Sittard 3-2 away to get here.
