If Manchester City raises the FA Cup next weekend, it will mean that the eighth place in the Premier League will be the post for European football next season.

Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for the hosts, but a vitali Mykolenko at the blow of things at halftime.
After the break, the Toffees marked a quick succession twice when, first, Michal Keane gave David Moyes’ advance in the 70th minute before Beto added a third three minutes later to worsen a miserable afternoon for the chalet.

The result opens the door of Newcastle or Chelsea to skip the Pep Guardiola team when the two teams meet on Sunday, while Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa also had the chance to go on the champions of the league last season with victories this weekend.
The Southampton point also means that they avoided the unfortunate distinction of the total joint points in the history of the Premier League.
The saints now have 12 points, one better than the total of the Derby County in 2011.
